Completion of the evaluation process for the 1st cycle of the Crete Business Incubator – C Nest Accelerator
The evaluation process for the selection of beneficiaries to join the 1st operational cycle of the Crete Business Incubator – C Nest Accelerator has been successfully completed.
The procedure was carried out within the framework of the project “Provision of specialized services for the development and operation of a business incubator/accelerator in Crete to foster innovation in priority areas of the Just Development Transition Research and Innovation Strategy – LOT3 Section”, corresponding to Subproject 3 of the initiative.
The interviews took place on September 23 and 24, 2025, at the central premises of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) in Heraklion, conducted by the three-member Evaluation Committee, consisting of:
- G. Matalliotakis, Deputy Regional Governor of Crete responsible for liaison with Research and Academic Institutions,
- E. Koutsouraki, representative of GREEN PROJECTS S.A.,
- P. Karniouras, representative of FORTH/PRAXI Network.
A total of 25 applications were submitted between July 29 and September 17, 2025. Of these, 18 came from the Regional Unit of Heraklion, 4 from Rethymno, 2 from Chania, and 1 from Lasithi. In terms of thematic areas (according to RIS sectors), 12 proposals fell under Digital Technologies, 5 under Sustainable Resource Use, 3 under Smart Tourism & Culture, 3 under Sustainable Agri-food, and 2 under Efficient Health & Wellbeing.
The evaluation results were communicated to the candidates on September 26, 2025, and have been published on the official website of the Incubator: www.cnest.gr.
The installation of the beneficiaries in the specially designed premises of the Incubator (Isavron St. & Sofoklis Venizelos Ave.) is expected to take place around October 15, 2025.
