The presentation of Christina Agriantoni’s book “Hermoupolis of Syros, 1823–1940. An Early Industrial City in the Aegean Sea” will take place on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 19:30, in the Lecture Hall of the Institute for Mediterranean Studies (IMS-FORTH) (Nikiforou Foka 139 & Melissinou, Old Town of Rethymno).

On the occasion of this publication about the island city of Hermoupolis in the 19th century, historians will discuss key issues with the author concerning the economic and social history of modern Greece.
