The Conference goal is to bring together representatives from academic institutions, industry and public organizations with the aim of collecting, exchanging and promoting the Valorisation of Waste (municipal, industrial, agricultural, construction and demolition) to Energy (ethanol, hydrogen, biogas, biofuel, RDF, pyrolysis products,...) and Materials (raw, secondary and recycled materials).

A group made up of 35 Deputies and Scientific Experts, members of the European Parliamentary Technology Assessment Network (EPTA) from all the countries of the European Union, will visit FORTH and ENISA on Tuesday, 24 April 2007.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed early this month between the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas (FORTH) and the Korea Science and Engineering Foundation (KOSEF), with a view to promoting joint research and technological activities in natural sciences and engineering. The memorandum was signed, on behalf of FORTH, by the Chairman of the BoD, Prof. Alkiviades C. Payatakes and on behalf of KOSEF by the Chairman of the Organisation, Prof. Oh-Kab Kwon.

The Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) will participate in the 71st Thessaloniki International Fair in cooperation with the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT). This year's theme is “Innovation”. The fair will be held September 8–17 2006.
