The Alexander S. Opening of the first worldwide exhibition of interactive systems
The first worldwide exhibition of interactive systems dedicated to ancient Macedonia, developed in cooperation by the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki (AMTH) and the Institute of Computer Science, Foundation for Research & Technology-Hellas (ICS-FORTH), opens the doors on Monday, 1st November 2010 at AMTH.
Contribution of FORTH/ICE-HT to the groundbreaking discovery of Graphene - the perfect atomic lattice
The close collaboration of FORTH/ICE-HT with the 2010 Nobel Prize Laureates in Physics is another example of the forefront scientific research conducted at the Institute in the field of nanomaterials and their applications.
Inauguration of the new building
On Sunday, September 19th 2010, at 17.45 p.m., the inauguration of the new building of the Institute for Mediterranean Studies will take place. It will be named after the deceased President of the Foundation for Research and Technology, native from Rethymno, the late Stelios Orphanoudakis.

Opening of the art exhibition Revival of Creto-Mycenean Paintings at FORTH
On Wednesday 29 September 2010 at 18.00, FORTH invites the public to the opening of the art exhibition Revival of Creto-Mycenean Paintings by the painter Tzortzis Angelinis (1920-1980) at FORTH premises (Vassilika Vouton, Heraklion-Crete).
Public Lecture by Professor Adi Shamir (TURING AWARD 2002) in the framework of 2010 Onassis Foundation Science Lecture Series on Computer Science
On Wednesday 30 June, 8 p.m. at FORTH Amphitheater, Professor Adi Shamir (The Weizmann Institute of Science and winner of the Turing Award 2002) will give public lecture on "How Cryptosystems Are Really Broken" in the framework of 2010 Onassis Foundation Science Lecture Series on Computer Science.
Art Exhibition of the Visual Arts Group of FORTH at Vitturi bastion
From the 1st until the 10th of June 2010, the Visual Arts Group of FORTH organizes an Art Exhibition entitled "Group Escape" at Vitturi bastion, Pediadios str. in Heraklion. The opening of the Exhibition will take place on Wednesday 2 June, 2010 at 19.00. The Art Exhibition includes artwork from various artistic fields such as photography, painting, jewellery, holography and multimedia.

Advanced Multiphoton Confocal Microscopy facility established at IMBB/FORTH
The Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology of the Foundation for Research and Technology - Hellas, announces today the establishment of its advanced Multiphoton Confocal Microscopy Facility. This state-of-the-art facility is currently the only one in Greece and the first of its kind in Europe.
